Blinken and Aliyev discussed the process of regulating Armenian-Azerbaijani relations

US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken and President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev had a telephone conversation. The Secretary of State emphasized Armenia and Azerbaijan's continuous progress towards a peace agreement and the importance of concluding such an agreement as soon as possible. He repeated that the United States is ready to support the parties in any way that benefits them. Emphasizing the importance of bilateral relations between the United States and Azerbaijan, the Secretary of State noted constructive cooperation with Azerbaijan on typical climate and energy goals, adding that the United States is committed to making COP29 a successful event. He called for updating and strengthening the bilateral relations between the USA and Azerbaijan. The Secretary of State once again urged Azerbaijan to fulfill its international obligations for the protection of human rights and to release all those unjustly arrested. The Secretary of State called on Azerbaijan to do this immediately.
